Just as a home develops over time, so does each family's collection of Christmas ornaments, which tells its own story. Some details go, important and special ones remain. Old Christmas ornaments received from grandparents, ornaments for the first Christmas tree in your first home when you reach adulthood, even children's birthdays add their own character to the family Christmas tree. In the Alice and Arthur Christmas range, we focus on quality and don't strive for quantity - less is more.

About Christmas long ago:

There are records of the first Christmas celebrations on the Tallinn Town Hall square from 1441, when a Christmas tree was brought by members of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads. It was said to be the first urban Christmas tree in Europe.

Over time, the Christmas tree has been decorated with candles and various edible decorations, later they were replaced by glass balls. From the 18th century, Christmas trees were decorated here and there with shiny garlands and electric lights.

Christmas trees began to be brought into homes only at the end of the 18th century in Germany, from where this custom reached Estonia through the manors at the beginning of the 19th century. When entering the barn, the fir trees also pushed out the straw that had been carried into the room for Christmas. The tradition of bringing a Christmas tree into the room became its own in the 20th century.
