EASTER CRAFTS

All you need is wallpaper and a bit of spare time for getting creative.

You will need:

Wallpaper

Scissors

Ruler

Glue or a hotglue gun

String/ribbon

Stickers or decor tape (optional)

Pencil

a traditional Swedish-style Påskris ‘Easter Tree’

LEAVES

  1. Cut out a square of wallpaper (the sheets in our kit measure 20 x 20 cm. If you use less, your leaves will be smaller. A mix of sizes is also fine!) and start with the pattern side facing up. Fold in half diagonally to make a crease, and then unfold again. Cut along the crease so you have two equal triangles. You’re now going to fold one of your triangles.
  2. With the pattern-side up, fold in half vertically, and unfold again.
  3. Fold down the top point to the centre of the bottom edge. Unfold.
  4. Fold the top points and bottom edge so they meet at the horizontal crease. Unfold and turn over the wallpaper.
  5. Continue folding the sheet back and forth in accordion-type pleats. Once you have folded all the sections, you’ll have a zig-zag pattern on the back.
  6. Fold the strip in half along the existing crease.
  7. Glue the two folded sides together. You have now created a first leaf for decorating your Swedish Easter Tree twigs!

Tip! Trim the leaf tip if you want to neaten it up.

EGGS

  1. Start by cutting out ovals from two or more different wallpaper patterns.
  2. Then fold your egg cutouts in half.
  3. Apply glue across one of your folded eggs and attach it to the next folded cutout. Pick another pattern.
  4. Repeat the process of gluing together the folded paper cutouts. We chose to glue together ten oval cutouts, using alternating wallpaper designs for a more decorative egg.
  5. Make a hanger loop using fine thread for hanging your wallpaper egg from your Swedish-style påskris Easter Tree. Apply glue across your assembled egg, then position your thread hanger loop on the glue and finally press your last oval cutout in place over the glue to secure the thread.
  6. Make as many eggs as you fancy, varying the size if you like, too.
